According to MSN, just a few minutes of yoga daily can have the ability to relax your body, mind, and release the built up tension we all have. Seriously, we all have it! If you have arthritis or pains in your joints, it can even help with that! It’s worth making into a habit because it even boosts your immune system, and helps control our tendencies to overeat. Having a happy body and mind can only do good things for your body, so we can’t seem to figure out why you WOULDN’T try yoga! You relationships with those in your life will improve, and not just because yoga improves cardiovascular health! When you’re calm and happy, life is good!

Are you catching yoga fever yet? Well even if you’re slightly curious, we recommend you check out the Downtown Yoga Festival tomorrow, a yoga event created specially for the Salt Lake City yoga community. It doesn’t matter if this will be your first time doing yoga, or if you’re a qualified yoga teacher. There are yoga classes, seminars and workshops for all ages and for any yoga experience. The festival was made to celebrate the wonderful things yoga can offer; happiness, peace, and healing. Some of the examples of yoga you’ll be experiencing are Ashtanga, Kundalini, Partner Yoga, Bhangra Yoga, and there will even be a Handstand Workshop!

And of course, we’re interested in the food. They will be serving delicious food, and offering Vegan and Ayurvedic cooking classes. What is Ayurvedic cooking? It’s popular in the yoga community, and it basically means the food you eat is fresh, in season, and made in a humane way. It’s not some crazy fad diet that is restrictive and controlling! It doesn’t tell you what you can and can’t eat, it just tells you how to prepare your food! We like it. And even if the Ayurvedic lifestyle isn’t for you, definitely come try it anyway. We hear it's delicious!

There’s going to be dancing and happy partying to some wonderful live bands, and vendors will be handing out free merchandise. Some of these vendors include Yoga for People, Salt Bistro, Kind Apparel, Soul Pro, Mystics on the Mat, and Priya’s Henna Design! 

So let’s get this straight. Classes for all skill levels, delicious food, and live music? We’ll try not to keep dancing all day!  And there will be people all over who love yoga too, why not make some friends?

The event starts Saturday the 28th and goes until the 30th. They will start at 10am and end at 5pm. Guess you don’t have to wake up before dawn to do yoga, thank heavens! (We’re going to start the day with a big cup of coffee regardless)
